Mattishall Under 8's are jointly run by Rob Langley and Richard Dickinson, both are level one FA qualified coaches. Both have played football to a good standard representing Mattishall and Dereham Town to Ridgeon's League Standard when younger!

This year Mattishall under 8's are starting out life in the South Norfolk Youth League. In order to get to this stage the team started their journey with a series of friendly games last year in order to aide there development and match experience. Some of the teams we will meet this year we have already had the benefit of playing last year and look forward to playing against again. Throughout the games last year the boys equipped themselves very well with great games away to Cringleford where we saw a thrilling 3-3 draw and great results away at Hillside in Norwich where we met teams like Taverham as well as Hill side as well.

The under 8's only had a short break this summer and have played friendlies against Dereham Town whom we have beaten on three occasions out of the four times we have met.

The squad has eleven players of which there are some very good players all of which are developing nicely along there football journey.

Three of the players recently picked up individual awards at Norwich City Football Clubs Football in the community week which was held at Dereham Northgate High School during the summer Holidays. This is a credit to the boys and Mattishall Youth Football Club.
